Roberta Pedon

Roberta's entry into film came through Delinquent Schoolgirls, a production linked to a Los Angeles company that specialized in cheesecake shoots and loops, which used bust models like Roberta and Nika Movenka as actresses. After that film, she caught the acting bug and auditioned for a Jan-Michael Vincent movie, but personal problems and poor management meant she never appeared in another film. Her relationships with men were brief and turbulent; she often sought deep emotional attachment with men who used and discarded her. She claimed to have had affairs with an actor from Planet of the Apes and a faded television star who later died mysteriously in 1978. One longer relationship lasted with writer Gustav Hasford, author of The Short Timers, which inspired Full Metal Jacket.

Although she was discovered in the USA, Roberta first appeared in a Danish pornographic magazine. In most of her photo shoots she dressed, and then undressed, as a hippie. Her popularity was short-lived; in September 1975 she was imprisoned in San Francisco for drug and prostitution offenses. Upon release, many former employers, including the AAE people behind Delinquent Schoolgirls, ostracized her. Homeless, struggling with drugs and bulimia, she did her last photo shoot in 1976. It is important to note that a different Italian woman with the same name and a similar appearance appears in a YouTube video about being a hippie in India; birth and death records confirm they are different people.
