Biography
About Maud Adams
With long brown hair and striking blue eyes, Maud Adams stands 5'9" with a slim build and a 34B bra cup size. She is a Swedish actress and glamour model, born on Monday 12th of February 1945 in Luleå, Norrbotten, Sweden. Her 40-year career, spanning 1970 to 2010, made her one of the most recognized Bond girls in cinema history.
Adams initially aspired to be an interpreter, being fluent in five languages. In 1963, a photographer spotted her in a shop and asked to take her picture. That photo was submitted to the Miss Sweden contest, and her modeling career soon took off. She moved to Paris and later to New York, working for Eileen Ford. At that time, she was one of the highest paid and most exposed models in the world. Her acting debut came in the 1970 film The Boys in the Band, playing a photo-shoot model in the opening credits. During the 1970s, she guest-starred in American TV series like Hawaii Five-O and Kojak.
Adams became internationally famous as Andrea Anders in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), opposite Roger Moore and Christopher Lee. Her performance was described as 'tough but haunted.' She then appeared in Norman Jewison's Rollerball and the erotic thriller Tattoo with Bruce Dern. James Bond producer Albert Broccoli was so impressed that he cast her as the title character in Octopussy (1983), a role that made her one of the few actresses to play two different Bond girls. She also made a brief uncredited appearance in A View to a Kill (1985). Her Bond films featured several Swedish co-stars, including Britt Ekland, Kristina Wayborn, Mary Stävin, and Dolph Lundgren.
Despite Bond fame, Adams' later career had ups and downs. She starred in the TV series Emerald Point NAS (1983-1984) and Jane and the Lost City (1987). In September 1987, she appeared in Playboy's Bond Girls issue. She hosted the Swedish show Kafé Luleå in 1994 and had a guest role in the soap opera Vita lögner in 1998. In 2000, she appeared on That '70s Show as a bridesmaid alongside fellow Bond girls Tanya Roberts, Kristina Wayborn, and Barbara Carrera. Adams also served as president of the cosmetics company Scandinavian Biocosmetics. Reflecting on her Bond legacy, she said, 'Looking back on it, how can you not really enjoy the fact that you were a Bond Girl? It's pop culture and to be part of that is very nice.' She remains close to the Bond producers and often attends premieres. She is a real natural beauty, having never undergone surgery.
