Joke Van De Velde

Van De Velde was Miss Belgium in 2000, and she also competed in the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants that same year. She studied modern language sciences and specialized in Dutch, French, English, and German, and also trained as a kindergarten teacher. Her pageant success allowed her to pursue modeling and presenting more extensively. In 2000, a rose was named after her: the Floribunda rose 'Joke'. She has appeared in magazines such as Ché, P-Magazine, Menzo, and Maxim, and has worked as a stylist for Flair, Story, and Maxim. She also made occasional television appearances, including in Big Brother VIPs in 2001 and Stanley's Route in 2006, where she reached the final.

Van De Velde had guest roles in FC De Kampioenen and the police series Witse. In 2008, she appeared as a boxer in the video clip 'Longface' by Tom Helsen. In 2010, she presented De Pokerkampioen van Vlaanderen on 2BE and participated in MasterChef. In 2012, she took part in Expeditie Robinson. Since 2007, she has organized Miss East Flanders, a pre-selection of Miss Belgium, and since 2010, Miss West Flanders. Since 2013, she has hosted a weekly radio program on Q-music. She had a relationship with Belgian footballer François Sterchele a few weeks before his death in 2008. Her Instagram has 71k followers.
