About Trisha Hershberger
Trisha Hershberger grew up in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, where she developed an early interest in video games, technology, and DIY. When her parents banned her from using consoles, she taught herself to modify the family's home PC so she could play video games. That resourcefulness carried into a career that blends theater, tech, and gaming. She won the Miss Pennsylvania Coed Pageant in 2002 and studied theater in college, saying, "I liked performing. I knew that I liked being public-facing."
After moving to Los Angeles, she "tripped and fell into YouTube" and created her channel in August 2010. Originally named "nerdychick5," it later became eponymously named. On the channel, she posts vlogging and gaming content. Some of her most notable vlogs were part of the now-discontinued series The Naked Truth, where she appeared seemingly nude without makeup, filters, or editing. Hershberger also streams on Twitch and runs her own production company, which has created content for clients like TwitchGaming and Amazon.
In 2012, she became a host on SourceFed, a YouTube channel covering news and pop culture. The channel reached one million subscribers the following year and won multiple Streamy Awards, including Audience Choice for Series of the Year in 2013. Hershberger was also a founding member and host on SourceFed Nerd, which launched in May 2013 and focused on gaming and technology news. She frequently reported on-field and covered tech discussions. In 2014, she covered Discovery's FinFest event for SourceFed Nerd during Shark Week and appeared on Hot Pepper Gaming to review Neverending Nightmares. She left SourceFed in March 2015 but returned for the final episode of Table Talk in March 2017.
After SourceFed, Hershberger took on a variety of hosting roles. In April 2015, she guest hosted an episode of DC All Access. Later that year, she began working for The Escapist as an on-camera personality, hosting the series Take My Money. She also appeared on Beat the Clock and interviewed YouTube personalities at VidCon in 2015. In 2016, she made an appearance on IGN's Up at Noon Live!. In 2018, she participated in HyperRPG's four-part tabletop RPG series based on The Banner Saga, which streamed on Twitch.
By 2019, she was hosting shows for Kingston Technology, Newegg, Geek & Sundry, and Nerdist, and hosted an episode of You Know That Scene for Focus Features. In 2021, she spoke with WGVU-FM and WAFF about tech products. That October, Nintendo partnered with her and other Twitch streamers to promote Metroid Dread. In 2022, she hosted a Q&A watch party for The Boys Presents: Diabolical, and in 2023 she appeared as a guest on the first episode of Radio Times' gaming podcast One More Life. As of now, she has 212k Instagram followers, 170k YouTube subscribers, and 64k Twitch followers. She's American, stands 5'0", and is an athletic build with black hair and brown eyes.
