About Thomasin McKenzie
Thomasin McKenzie, a New Zealand actress, was born on the 26th of July 2000 in Wellington, New Zealand. Her parents, Miranda Harcourt and Stuart McKenzie, are both well-known in the entertainment industry, and her grandmother, Dame Kate Harcourt, was also an actress. Growing up in a family steeped in acting, she attended Samuel Marsden Collegiate School and graduated in 2018. She is the middle child, with an elder brother and a younger sister, and her grandfather, Peter Harcourt, founded the real estate company Harcourts International.
McKenzie began her acting career in 2012 with the film 'Existence', appearing alongside her brother. In 2014, she played a teenager in the television film 'Consent', and the following year she took on the role of Pixie Hannah in the soap opera 'Shortland Street'. By 2016, she was the titular character in the children's comedy web series 'Lucy Lewis Can't Lose'. Her breakout came in 2018 with 'Leave No Trace', where she portrayed a daughter living off the grid with her father, earning the National Board of Review Award for Breakthrough Performance. In 2019, she appeared in 'The King' and played a young Jewish girl hiding in Nazi Germany in the satire 'Jojo Rabbit', which brought her further critical acclaim.
She was originally cast in 'Top Gun: Maverick' but had to drop out due to conflicts with 'Lost Girls'. In 2021, she joined several major projects, including 'Old' by M. Night Shyamalan and the psychological film 'Last Night in Soho'. Upcoming, she is set to portray gymnast Kerri Strug in a film directed by Olivia Wilde. With blue eyes, brown hair, and a slim build, McKenzie stands at 5'5" and weighs 110 lbs. She has no tattoos or piercings. As an actress, she remains active since 2012.
