About Susanne Sundfor
Susanne Sundfør is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and record producer with a career spanning nearly two decades. Born in Haugesund, Norway, she began touring in 2005 and released her self-titled debut album in 2007, which reached number three on the Norwegian album chart. Her follow-up, Take One (2008), was a live album drawn from that debut.
Her second studio album, The Brothel (2010), marked a shift from piano-driven pop to a more ambitious, electronic sound, and it topped the Norwegian charts, becoming the best-selling album of that year. The title track reached number two on the Norwegian singles chart. In 2011, she released A Night at Salle Pleyel, a live instrumental album composed solely of synthesizers. Her third album, The Silicone Veil (2012), also reached number one and received critical acclaim.
Her international breakthrough came with Ten Love Songs (2015), which saw her experimenting with electronic dance pop and earning universal acclaim. The follow-up, Music for People in Trouble (2017), returned to her folk roots and became her fourth consecutive number one album in Norway. Her sixth album, Blómi, was released in 2023. Over the years, Sundfør has built a reputation as a versatile artist, and her work continues to resonate with listeners. She is 40 years old, with blonde hair and blue eyes. With a slim build and a significant following of 54k on Instagram, she remains an influential figure in Norwegian music.
Her ability to evolve across genres, from intimate piano ballads to lush synthscapes and back to folk, has kept her audiences engaged. She is currently active, and her recent album suggests she continues to explore new creative directions.
