Sara Del Rey

American professional wrestling trainer and former wrestler Sara Del Rey was born on November 13, 1980, in Martinez, California. As Sara Ann Amato, she built a career that spanned over two decades in the ring before transitioning to the trainer's role she holds today. Del Rey was a mainstay for Chikara, Ring of Honor, and Shimmer, while also appearing for numerous independent promotions across the US, such as IWA Mid-South and All Pro Wrestling, as well as Mexico's Lucha Libre Femenil. She even taped matches under a mask as Nic Grimes for the MTV promotion Wrestling Society X.

Del Rey became the inaugural Shimmer Champion and later co-held the Shimmer Tag Team Championship with Courtney Rush, making her the promotion's first double champion. In 2012, she was the fourth woman to appear on Pro Wrestling Illustrated's list of the top 500 wrestlers in the world. With a height of 5'9" and an athletic build, she was known for her real, natural presence in the ring. Her hair and eyes are both brown. After retiring from active competition, she joined WWE, where she currently works as Assistant Head Coach and producer at NXT, based in the WWE Performance Center. That role keeps her shaping the next generation of wrestlers. Her career reflects both in-ring excellence and a lasting impact behind the scenes.
