Biography
About Rosanne Katon
Standing at 5'2" with a slim build, Rosanne Katon has a presence that far exceeds her petite frame. The American actress and former model, born in New York City on February 5, 1954, launched her career in the late 1970s. She made her mark as a Playboy Playmate of the Month for September 1978, a milestone that cemented her status as a centerfold. Her 13-year career in the industry spanned from 1978 to 1991, during which she became known for her natural 34C bust and measurements of 36–23–34.
Beyond her Playboy fame, Katon was a versatile performer. She appeared in a Broadway lead role in "Godspell" and featured roles in projects like "Women Behind Bars." Her film credits include leading roles in the 1976 action films "Ebony, Ivory & Jade" and "The Muthers," the latter opposite former Playboy centerfold Jean Bell. She also acted in the short-lived spin-off "Grady" and later held a recurring role on the medical drama "St. Elsewhere" opposite Denzel Washington. Katon also appeared in two award-winning UCLA student films: Julie Dash's "Illusions" (1982) and S. Torriano Berry's "Rich." Her Hollywood career was often defined by "sex kitten" roles in R-rated comedies like "Chesty Anderson, U.S. Navy," "Lunch Wagon," and "Bachelor Party," but she proved her range with these notable exceptions.
Katon also pursued stand-up comedy, even appearing in Playboy's June 1991 pictorial "Funny Girls." In 1984, she married Richard M. Walden, president and CEO of Operation USA, an international relief organization. The couple has two children, including a son with autism who is an expert cellist. Their family is featured in the 2007 documentary "Autism: The Musical," which won an Emmy for Best TV Documentary Special. Katon serves on the Advisory Board of Operation USA and remains actively involved in the organization's humanitarian work.
