Phyllis George is remembered as a former actress and beauty pageant contestant whose life took many turns. Born in Denton, Texas on June 25, 1949, she was American and of Caucasian ethnicity. She stood 5'8" tall, had auburn hair and blue eyes, and carried an athletic build. Her measurements were 32–24–35, and she wore a 38B bra cup size, with naturally real breasts. Her career spanned five decades, from 1970 to 2020, starting when she was around 21 years old.

George competed in beauty pageants early on, becoming Miss Texas in 1970 and then winning the Miss America crown in 1971. That victory opened doors, and she went on to appear in front of cameras as an actress. She also made appearances on popular talk shows, including three interviews on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson during her time as Miss America. Later, she took on a role as First Lady of Kentucky from 1979 to 1983, showing her versatility beyond pageantry. She passed away on May 20, 2020, at the age of 70, leaving behind a legacy that spanned entertainment and public service.

In addition to her public roles, George was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and attended North Texas State University for three years.
