Biography

About Olga Schoberova

Edited by the community

Born on 15 March 1943 in Prague, Olga Schoberova came into the world during the Nazi occupation, in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Her parents were clerks, and she attended the High School of Economics before starting work as a clerk at Technomat, earning 500 CZK a month. Her older sister Eva was a model, and when Eva was too busy, Olga stepped in for a modeling job because they looked alike. That led to commercials and, at age 20, a Pilsner beer poster that caught the eye of director Antonín Kachlík. He cast her in the 1963 film We Were Ten.

That role opened the door to a string of popular Czech movies, including Lemonade Joe and Who Wants to Kill Jessie? Over the next two decades, Olga became a familiar face on screen, working steadily from 1963 to 1984. She is a Czech actress with blonde hair and blue eyes, standing 5'5" tall. Her natural measurements are 38–24–37.

In the early 1960s, Olga dated artist Kája Saudek, who advised her to bleach her hair blonde. He also based his comic character Jessie on her. Today, at 83, she remains a remembered figure from Czech cinema, with a small Instagram following of 457. Her career began almost by accident, but it left a lasting mark. She is straight and of Caucasian ethnicity. Olga Schoberova's story is one of chance encounters and quick turns.
