About Natasha Henstridge
Standing 5'10" with blonde hair and green eyes, Natasha Henstridge channeled her modeling career into a Hollywood acting trajectory that began with a breakout role in 1995's Species. Born in Springdale, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, she entered the Casablanca Modeling Agency's "Look of the Year" contest at 14 and was chosen first runner-up. A year later, she moved to Paris to pursue modeling, landing her first magazine cover on the French edition of Cosmopolitan at 15. Her modeling work included commercials for Olay, Old Spice, and Lady Stetson before she pivoted to movies.
Her film debut came in 1995 with Species, where she played Sil, a genetically engineered alien/human hybrid. The film was an immediate hit, earning $113 million at the box office and winning Henstridge the MTV Movie Award for "best kiss" for a scene involving her character's tongue. She reprised a similar role as Eve in Species II (1998), though that sequel underperformed. Beyond the Species franchise, her notable credits include The Whole Nine Yards, The Whole Ten Yards, It Had To Be You, Ghosts of Mars, and the TV series She Spies and Eli Stone.
