About Nancy Kerrigan
Nancy Kerrigan is an American former figure skater who competed at the highest level of the sport. Over a seven-year career from 1987 to 1994, she earned a reputation as one of the most consistent and elegant skaters of her era. Her achievements include bronze medals at the 1991 World Championships and the 1992 Winter Olympics, as well as silver at the 1992 World Championships and the 1994 Winter Olympics. She also won the 1993 US National Figure Skating Championship. Kerrigan was inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2004. She is of English, German, and Irish descent.
Kerrigan's career is indelibly linked with the infamous attack on January 6, 1994, when an assailant struck her landing knee with a police baton. The attacker was hired by the ex-husband of her rival, Tonya Harding. Kerrigan recovered quickly and competed at the 1994 Winter Olympics, where she won a silver medal in a controversial showdown with gold medalist Oksana Baiul. Harding, who also competed at those Games, was later permanently banned from competitive figure skating. The events have been the subject of numerous documentaries and dramatizations.
After retiring from amateur competition, Kerrigan toured with professional ice skating troupes, including Champions on Ice and Broadway on Ice. In 2017, she appeared as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Standing 5'4" with a slim build, brown hair, and blue eyes, she remains a recognizable figure in American sports history. She has a real/natural bust and is straight. Kerrigan's legacy extends beyond her medals, as she is remembered for her resilience and grace under pressure.
