Meenakshi (Actress)

With her average build, black hair, and brown eyes, Meenakshi presents a natural, girl-next-door presence that defined her film career. She is an Indian, Asian actress who appeared in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam language films between 2006 and 2017. She started acting around the age of 23 and was active for 11 years.

Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, on Friday, 6th of August 1982, Meenakshi initially worked under her birth name Pinky Sarkar. Her early Telugu ventures included the historical fiction Hanumanthu and the devotional film Sri Satyanarayana Swamy, in which she played goddess Lakshmi. She made her Tamil debut in 2007 with Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar, playing Raasathi, a first-year medical student. This role earned her recognition and led to offers for similar roles, but she chose to reject them to avoid being typecast. Instead, she took a break from acting to complete her education.

Returning to Chennai, she appeared in TN 07 AL 4777 (2009), a remake of the Hindi film Taxi No. 9211, as Pooja, a rich extrovert. That same year, she starred in Sundar C's Perumal and Raghava Lawrence's Rajadhi Raja, and made a special appearance in Vishal's Thoranai. In 2010, she was seen in Mandhira Punnagai and Agam Puram. After that, she stepped away from acting for over three years to pursue an MBA and care for her ill father. She is straight and has real boobs.
