Mai Kuraki

With her petite frame, slim build, and warm brown eyes and hair, Mai Kuraki presents a gentle stage presence that has charmed audiences for over two decades. She is a Japanese pop and R&B singer-songwriter and record producer, born in Funabashi, Chiba, Japan. Her career began in 1999, when she was around 16 years old, with the release of her US debut single 'Baby I Like' and her Japanese debut single 'Love, Day After Tomorrow.' She soon signed with Giza Studio and released her debut album, Delicious Way, in 2000. That album debuted at number-one, sold over 2.2 million copies in its first week, and eventually moved over 3.5 million copies nationwide, making it the best-selling album in Japan that year and the ninth best-selling album in the country of all time. It spawned four top-three singles, including 'Secret of My Heart.' She remains active since 1999, with 27 years in the industry.
