Asaka (Singer)

Japanese singer Asaka was born in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, on October 7, 1999. At age three, her family moved to Michigan, where she spent five years. While there, she discovered anime through Crayon Shin-chan and Doraemon, sparking an interest that would shape her future. After returning to Japan, she initially wanted to move to Tokyo, but she returned to Nagoya instead. Watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, she was inspired by characters singing and playing guitar, which led her to study character songs. She also watched Inazuma Eleven and Macross Frontier, and hearing Mei Nakabayashi (May'n) perform Sheryl Nome's songs made her decide to become an anison singer. With her father's encouragement and influence from Konomi Suzuki, she pursued music professionally. Before debuting as a singer, she appeared at events as a cosplayer, and she has worked as a gravure idol. Asaka has been active since 2015, starting around age 15. At 26, she stands 4'12" (152 cm) with a slim build, natural breasts, black hair, and brown eyes. She is also a voice actress, giving voice to Espoir City in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby. Her Instagram following is 59k.
