Lucy Dacus

At 31 years old, Lucy Dacus stands as a prominent American musician and singer. Born in Mechanicsville, Virginia, she first picked up a guitar in middle school. Her 2016 debut album, No Burden, brought her widespread recognition, leading to festival, television, and radio appearances. She followed with the acclaimed albums Historian in 2018 and Home Video in 2021.

An indie rock/folk artist, she also works as a producer. Her performances have graced The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Her Instagram, under the handle lucydacus, has gathered over 700,000 followers. In her personal life, she was adopted as an infant; her adoptive father is a graphic designer, and her adoptive mother is a music teacher and professional pianist. She confirmed her relationship with Boygenius bandmate Julien Baker in March 2025. She also collaborated with Hamilton Leithauser on his 2020 single "Isabella."
