About Laura Ramoso
Laura Ramoso stands 6'1" with a slim build, making her a striking presence both on stage and on screen. Born on Friday 20th of October 1995 in Legano, Italy, she holds both Canadian and Italian nationality, with a Caucasian ethnicity. As a comedian, influencer, and YouTuber, she has built a massive following of 1.6 million on Instagram.
Her early life was unusually nomadic. Her mother, a Medical Officer for the World Health Organization, moved the family from Italy to Douala, Cameroon, and then to Azerbaijan, China, and Vietnam. Laura eventually chose Canada for her university education, graduating from the University of Victoria with a BFA in Theatre. In January 2017, while watching a Second City show in Chicago, she had a revelation that she wanted to become a sketch artist. By 2019 she released her first special, Diane, which won Best New Show at the Bad Dog Theatre and became the first solo show ever to win the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival's Best of the Fest award.
When the COVID-19 pandemic halted live performances in 2021, Laura pivoted to social media. There she created original characters and series that resonated widely, including German Mom, Italian Dad, and Girl who just got back from.... These satirical videos cemented her reputation as a sharp observer of cultural quirks and family dynamics. With her real/natural brown eyes and hair, she continues to blend comedy and commentary in ways that keep audiences engaged.
