Over the years, Diaz has worked in a wide range of genres. She gained dramatic recognition for Any Given Sunday and Being John Malkovich (both 1999), then delivered praised supporting roles in Vanilla Sky (2001) and Gangs of New York (2002). She also headlined the action comedy Charlie's Angels (2000) and its 2003 sequel, and voiced Princess Fiona in the Shrek franchise from 2001 to 2010.
