About Kim Wayans
Kim Wayans stands 6'0" tall with an athletic build, black hair, and brown eyes, a presence that has served her well across comedy and drama. Born in New York City on October 16, 1961, she grew up in the Chelsea neighborhood as one of ten children in the Wayans family. She graduated from Seward Park High School and Wesleyan University before launching a career that began in 1982. She is an American actress and comedian of Black ethnicity.
Wayans first gained fame on the Fox variety show In Living Color, starring alongside her siblings. Her film work includes appearances in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka and Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, both directed by her brother Keenan. She had a starring role in the art film Talking About Sex and co-starred in Juwanna Mann. Her television credits include regular appearances on In the House with LL Cool J and a recurring role on A Different World. She also worked as a story editor on her brother Damon's sitcom My Wife and Kids.
Wayans has shown range beyond comedy. In 2011, she took on a dramatic role in Pariah, playing a mother struggling to understand her teenage daughter. That performance earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2012 Black Reel Awards. In 2008, she co-wrote a series of children's books with her husband Kevin Knotts, titled Amy Hodgepodge, about a multiracial girl adjusting to public school after homeschooling. Her career spans over four decades, and she remains active. She's tall, talented, and part of a comedy dynasty.
