Biography

About June Wilkinson

Edited by the community

A slim, blonde, brown-eyed English rose, June Wilkinson was one of the most photographed women of her era. Born on 27 March 1940 in Eastbourne, East Sussex, she rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a pin-up and actress. At her peak, she was called "the most photographed nude in America," a title earned through countless pictorials and film appearances.

Wilkinson's career spanned 47 years, from 1958 to 2005. She appeared in Playboy five times in 1960 alone, including the November issue titled "The Bosom Revisits Playboy." Playboy founder Hugh Hefner nicknamed her "the bosom," and her signature look involved spilling out of whatever top she wore. Her measurements were often exaggerated in publicity, but she clarified in 1963 that they were actually 40-22-35, a figure that matched her real, natural body.

Beyond print, Wilkinson acted in films like the 1960 voodoo movie Macumba Love, made a cameo as the faceless, bare-breasted woman in the window in Russ Meyer's The Immoral Mr. Teas, and found success on stage in "Pajama Tops." She also performed with Spike Jones and His City Slickers. In the late 1960s and 1970s, she, like many glamour models, slipped into a series of B-grade movies. She passed away on 21 July 2025 at the age of 85.
