About Jorja Fox
Jorja Fox is an American actress and producer who has become a familiar face through major roles in three of television's most successful dramas: ER, The West Wing, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Born in New York City on July 7, 1968, she began her career as a fashion model as a teenager before studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute and HB Studios, and later graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1990. Fox's breakout came in 1996 with a recurring role on ER, where she appeared in 33 episodes as Dr. Maggie Doyle. She then played Secret Service agent Gina Toscano on The West Wing, before anchoring CSI for over a decade as Sara Sidle, starting in 2000. She left the show in 2008, but returned for guest spots and as a regular from 2011 until the series ended in 2015, and reprised the role in 2021 for the first season of CSI Vegas. She shared in CSI's 2005 Screen Actors Guild award for outstanding ensemble performance. Fox has also appeared in films and a CBS pilot before the pandemic, and she co-founded Seafox Productions, which has co-produced the musical "Stay Forever: The Life and Music of Dusty Springfield" and four feature documentaries. She is a long-time advocate for environmental and animal welfare causes. In 2004, Fox was briefly fired from CSI for not signing a return-to-work form, but she and co-star George Eads were rehired within the week. She is known for writing Sara's farewell note to Grissom in the episode "Goodbye and Good Luck". Fox's parents emigrated from Montreal; her mother was Belgian-Canadian and her father Irish-Canadian. She has an older brother, Jeff. During her modeling days in New York in the late 1980s, she was roommates with Paula Ciccone, Madonna's sister. She co-founded Honeypot Productions, an experimental theater group, and attended Melbourne High School in Florida for three years before being discovered in a mall model search. Her name is pronounced "Georgia", and she has a dog named Bexar, found in Bexar County, Texas. She co-produced a Dusty Springfield musical at the Renberg Theatre in Los Angeles, and a vegan purse brand, Matt & Nat, named a bag after her. In 1984 she played Jan Morrow in her high school's production of "Pillow Talk". She is a good friend of actress Amy Carlson, whom she met on the set of Missing Persons in 1993. Fox ranked #80 in Stuff magazine's "103 Sexiest Women" in 2003. She is 5'9" tall with brown hair and brown eyes, a slim build, and natural breasts. Her measurements are 32-24-33, and she wears a 30A bra. She has been active since 1989.
