Biography
About Jocelyn Lane
Jocelyn Lane was an Austrian-born actress and former model whose career spanned the 1950s and 1960s. She was born in Vienna in 1937 to British parents and began working as a model under the stage name Jackie Lane, appearing on hundreds of magazine covers worldwide. Her beauty led to her being called the "British Bardot," and she acted in international films before moving to Hollywood in the mid-1960s, where she adopted her birth name to avoid confusion with a British actress of the same stage name.
Despite her striking looks, her screen persona was often described as aloof and haughty, which did not endear her to American audiences. Still, she landed leading roles in popular B-films, including the Elvis Presley musical Tickle Me (1965) and Hell's Belles (1969). A famous poster image from Hell's Belles shows her in a black leather miniskirt and boots, a look that became an icon of 1960s pop culture. She retired from acting in the early 1970s and later married into Spanish royalty.
Jocelyn stood 5'7" and had brown hair and brown eyes. She was 89 years old, and after a 16-year career, she left a memorable mark on cinema.
