About Joanie Laurer
Standing 5'11" tall with a muscular build, Joanie Laurer was a towering presence. She was born on December 27, 1969, in Rochester, New York, and passed away on April 20, 2016, at the age of 46. She was American, with mixed-race ethnicity primarily Caucasian. Her hair was brown and her eyes were blue, and she had a 41-31-35 figure with enhanced 40DD breasts. She was bisexual, as she stated in her career.
Laurer first gained fame as Chyna in the World Wrestling Federation in 1997, where she was billed as the "Ninth Wonder of the World." She was a professional wrestler, bodybuilder, and actress, and she broke gender norms in the ring. After leaving the WWF in 2001, she wrestled sporadically with other companies. She also appeared in Playboy magazine twice and pursued a career in adult entertainment, signing with Vivid Entertainment to perform in several XXX films. She claimed to have retired from pornography in early 2014.
Her personal life was often in the spotlight. She had a relationship with fellow wrestler Sean Waltman, with whom she made a sex tape released commercially as "1 Night in China" in 2004. That film won a 2006 AVN Award for Best-Selling Title. She also starred in further adult titles, including one that won AVN's 2012 Best Celebrity Sex Tape. She was found dead in her home in Redondo Beach, California, on April 20, 2016. An autopsy determined that she died of an overdose of alcohol, anxiety drugs, painkillers, and a sleeping aid. In 2019, she was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of D-Generation X, the first woman inducted as part of a group.
