Elcin Sangu

Standing 5'7" with red hair, Elcin Sangu is a Turkish actress and model of Circassian origin. She was born on August 13, 1985, in Izmir, Turkey. Before acting, she studied at the Opera Department of Mersin University and trained at Sahne Tozu Theater in Izmir, where she gained stage experience.

Her first notable TV role was "Jale" in Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki in 2011. She then played "Eda" in Bir Aşk Hikayesi (2013-2014), the Turkish adaptation of a South Korean series, and "Güzide" in the historical drama Kurt Seyit ve Şura (2014), filmed across Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. In 2015, she appeared in Sevdam Alabora before landing her breakthrough role as "Defne" in the romantic comedy Kiralık Aşk, co-starring Barış Arduç. The show ran for 69 episodes and earned her wide acclaim, including nominations for three Golden Butterfly Awards and over 20 total award nominations.

Sangu has also starred in the film Mutluluk Zamanı with Arduç. She became the brand face for Elidor and Boyner in 2016, and for GittiGidiyor in 2021. In 2016, she was ranked the second most popular Turkish actress based on social media and other statistics, and by September 2016 she was the tenth most followed Turkish celebrity on Instagram. She has 8.7 million Instagram followers. Sangu is in a relationship with Yunus Özdiken. She continues to be one of the most sought-after and highest-paid celebrities in Türkiye, known for her television commercials and campaigns.
