Daniela Ruah

Daniela Ruah is best known to American audiences as Special Agent Kensi Blye on NCIS: Los Angeles, a role she has played since the show's debut. But before Hollywood called, she had already built a successful career in her homeland as a TV and film actress. Her credits include the Portuguese soap opera Jardins Proibidos, Inspector Max, and the films Blind Confession and Midnight Passion. She also competed on and won the Portuguese version of Dancing with the Stars.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Daniela holds dual citizenship in the United States and Portugal. She studied at the London Metropolitan University and later trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. In 2014, she married David Olsen, the older brother of her NCIS: Los Angeles co-star Eric Christian Olsen. The couple, who had an interfaith ceremony, have two children: River Isaac Ruah Olsen and Sierra Esther Ruah Olsen.

A common misconception about Daniela is that she has heterochromia, or different-colored eyes. In fact, she has a harmless birthmark on her right eye that causes hyperpigmentation on the white part, making it appear darker. It's a subtle detail that adds to her distinctive look. At 42, she continues to work as an actress, director, and producer, with over two decades in the industry. She's athletic, stands 5'10", and has real, natural curves.
