She began her television career in 1984 as a reporter in the TF1 newsroom, covering culture and society for the newscasts. In 1987, when the channel was privatized, she moved to Antenne 2, where she first worked alongside Jacques Martin on La Lorgnette. Over the following years, she hosted many programs on the channel, including Jeux sans frontières, Question de charme with Georges Beller, and La Machine à chanter, which she conceived as the first karaoke show on television. She also presented the Télématin news in 1993, the 1 p.m. news during the summer in a duet with Gérard Morin, and Le Magazine de l'emploi until 1994.

In 1994, she joined the newly launched LCI channel, where she hosted LCA (La culture aussi) for seven years, a daily live talk show on cultural news. She welcomed nearly a thousand guests a year, including Michel Houellebecq, Pierre Boulez, Jean d'Ormesson, Angelin Preljocaj, Doc Gynéco, and Lauren Bacall. In 1997, she was appointed editor-in-chief and head of the culture department. She continued hosting prime-time shows on TF1, including variety specials with artists such as Charles Aznavour and Céline Dion, as well as the show Hits d'un jour, hits de toujours.

In 2001, she joined France 2, where she hosted magazine programs like Y'a un début à tout, Les Coulisses du pouvoir, Sacrés pères, and Comme au cinéma, along with major evening events such as the Fête de la Musique at venues like the Trocadéro, Château de Versailles, and Bois de Boulogne, and the Fête de la chanson française at the Zénith and the Olympia. Since 2004, she has worked as a producer through her company Degel Prod, which creates new program formats for France TV, TF1, Arte, and DTT channels.
