Biography
About Corinne Drewery
With her sleek dark hair and perpetually slim silhouette, Corinne Drewery looks every bit the fashion designer she trained to be before she became a musician. Her career has run on two tracks since the late 1970s, when she moved to London to study fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. She later worked as a designer and sang with bands such as Working Week.
In 1984 she met Andy Connell and Martin Jackson, and together they formed Swing Out Sister. The group's 1986–87 hit "Breakout" brought them success on both sides of the Atlantic. Drewery writes the band's lyrics and composes alongside Connell. She is British, born in Nottingham on 21 September 1959.
