Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka rose to prominence in 2017 when she and Aliaksandra Sasnovich led the Belarus Fed Cup team to a runner-up finish, despite both being ranked outside the top 75. She finished 2018 and 2019 ranked No. 11 in the world in singles. After reaching two major singles semifinals in 2021, she climbed to world No. 2 but struggled for consistency in 2022. In 2023, she won her first major singles title at the Australian Open and became world No. 1, also being named the ITF World Champion for the season. She successfully defended her Australian Open title and won the US Open in 2024, clinching the year-end No. 1 ranking. In 2025, she reached the finals of the Australian and French Opens, finishing as runner-up at each.

Sabalenka has won 20 WTA Tour-level singles titles, including three majors, and nine WTA 1000 events. She also has six doubles titles, including two majors at the 2019 US Open and 2021 Australian Open, both with Elise Mertens. Teaming with Mertens in 2019, she won the Sunshine Double (Indian Wells and Miami), and later that year they took the US Open doubles title, helping her qualify for the WTA Finals for the first time. After winning the 2021 Australian Open doubles title, she became world No. 1 in doubles, after which she shifted to playing exclusively singles. She is straight and has an athletic body type, with measurements of 36–26–37 and a WHR of 0.70.
