Anjana Om Kashyap

Indian journalist Anjana Om Kashyap is a prominent news anchor and Managing Editor at the Hindi channel Aaj Tak. Her career in journalism began with Doordarshan, the public broadcaster, before moving to Zee News and News 24, and finally settling at Aaj Tak. Born in Ranchi, Jharkhand, to a middle-class family, her father Omprakash Tiwari was a doctor on short-service commission with the Indian Army and served during the Bangladesh War of Liberation.

Kashyap attended Loreto Convent and then Delhi Public School, Ranchi, before pursuing an honours in Botany from the University of Delhi. She once appeared for the All India Pre Medical Test but did not pass. A prolific debater, she showed leadership early, becoming head-girl at both schools and president of her college hostel. Later, she studied at the Delhi School of Social Work for her post-graduation, where field visits instilled a spirit of public activism in her.

At 51, she stands 5'4" with black hair and brown eyes, and has an average build. She is active on Instagram with 2.1 million followers.
