Amel Bent

Amel Bent was born in Paris on June 21st, 1985, and grew up in the suburb of La Courneuve. She is of Algerian and French nationality. Her career began in 2004 when she reached the semi-finals of season 2 of the French TV competition Nouvelle Star. She went on to become the best-selling artist from that show.

Her debut album, "Un Jour d'été", was released in late 2004. It sold more than 550,000 copies in France alone. The single "Ma philosophie" was a major hit, selling over 500,000 copies and staying at number one in France for more than six weeks. The album's success established her as a prominent pop and R&B singer in the French music scene.

In her personal life, Amel Bent married Patrick Antonelli on June 15, 2015, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. However, the marriage ended when Patrick Antonelli divorced her for legal reasons. During the subsequent trial, he faced up to ten years in prison and a €1 million fine. Today, at 41, Amel Bent remains active in music, with a large following on Instagram.
