About Alessandra Sublet
French broadcaster Alessandra Sublet has spent nearly three decades in radio and television. Born on Tuesday, 5 October 1976, in Lyon, she grew up with a sporting pedigree: her father Joël was a soccer player for Olympique Lyonnais in the 1970s, and her cousin is Willy Sagnol. As a child, she studied classical dance at the Alain Astié school and tried out for the Opéra de Paris, but was turned away because of her height of 1.60 m. She went on to study communications and audiovisual at the ISCPA of Lyon.
Sublet's radio career started on Nostalgie in 1997, and she later worked at MTV in New York City. Back in France, she joined Radio Nova in 2000 and FG DJ Radio in 2003. Her television breakthrough came in 2003 with columns on Match TV and TF1. From 2004 to 2006 she was a columnist on Canal+'s La Matinale, and from 2007 to 2008 she co-hosted Le Grand Morning on RTL2. In 2006, she moved to M6, where she took over Classé Confidentiel from Virginie Efira and hosted the first three seasons of La France a un incroyable talent, as well as the second season of L'amour est dans le pré. She also hosted a follow-up to Nouvelle Star on W9. In 2009, she left M6 for France Télévisions, beginning her most famous role the same year: hosting the daily talk show C à vous on France 5, which she did until June 2013 (with a maternity break in 2012). She also co-hosted a Telethon special with Cyril Hanouna in 2009 and a fundraiser for Haiti earthquake victims in 2010.
After leaving C à vous, Sublet presented Fais-moi une place on France 5, Tenue de soirée exigée on France 2, and the talk show Un soir à la Tour Eiffel, which was broadcast from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. In 2015, she moved to TF1, where she hosted Stars à domicile, a 30th-anniversary concert for the AccorHotels Arena, and the UEFA Euro 2016 opening ceremony live from the Champ de Mars. Since 2018, she has presented the talk show C'est Canteloup with Nicolas Canteloup. She also returned to radio in 2010 with a Sunday morning show on France Inter, and later hosted Petit dimanche entre amis on Europe 1 in 2014. Sublet published a book, T'as le blues baby ? in 2013. She has two children, Charlie and Alphonse. She is known for her short haircut, which she has said she feels much more comfortable with than long hair.
