Brigitte Lahaie

Brigitte Lahaie started her career at age 18 with nude photos in magazines. A minor role in Africa Erotica (1970) was actually a later insert; she is not in the original cut. She performed in pornographic films from 1975 through 1980 and then turned to more mainstream film work. Often called the "Queen of French Porn," her father was a banker and her mother an accountant. She moved with her sister to Paris in 1975 and worked in a shoe store before getting her first film job through a newspaper advert.

In 1976, just a year after hardcore pornography was legalized in France, she began explicit work. She became a star in adult fare, then played a small role in The Grapes of Death (1978) for cult director Jean Rollin. She went on to a lead role in Fascination (1979). In the early 1980s she stopped doing porn and appeared in mainstream films under the alias Brigitte Simonin, with small parts in Diva (1981) and Henry & June (1990). She also published an autobiography in 1987, released a pop single, and did a one-woman stage show about her life. Later she hosted her own daily talk radio show focused on sexuality and relationships. In 2014 she was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame as a Film Pioneer.

French by nationality, Brigitte is 70 years old, stands 5'8", and has a slim build. She is bisexual. Her surname is a French adaptation of her Flemish name "vanmeerhaeghe," where "haie" means "hedge." She chose to be listed as "Brigitte Lahaie" for that reason.
