About Agam Darshi
Agam Darshi is an actress, artist, director, graphic designer, producer, and writer. She was born in Birmingham, England, to Sikh parents of Indian Punjabi descent, and at a young age her family moved to Canada. She grew up mainly in Montreal, Ottawa, and Vancouver. When she was 14, she left home to relocate to Calgary, Alberta, where she started pursuing acting. Darshi studied theatre and fine arts at the University of Calgary and earned a degree in photography.
Darshi has appeared in over 25 television productions and over a dozen films. She is best known for roles in Tru Calling, The Dead Zone, The L-Word, and as Laura in Final Destination 3. She also had a recurring role on the Canadian teen drama renegadepress.com. From 2009 to 2011, she was part of the main cast of Sanctuary in seasons two and three, and had a recurring role in season four. In 2013, she won the Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture for Crimes of Mike Recket. With fellow South Asian actress Patricia Isaac, she co-founded the Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival (VISAFF). She also appeared as Ruby Shivani in season 2 of You Me Her.
In January 2021, Darshi began principal photography on her directorial debut, Donkeyhead, in Regina, Saskatchewan. The film, in which she also played the lead, premiered at the 2021 Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival. Her English and Indian heritage, along with her mixed-race background, informs her work as a filmmaker and actress. She is 5'5" with black hair and brown eyes.
