Argentine politician Victoria Villarruel was born on 13 April 1975 in Buenos Aires. She has been active in politics since 2021, starting around age 46. Villarruel is a lawyer, writer, and activist. She has served as vice president of Argentina since 2023.
A member of the La Libertad Avanza coalition, she previously sat in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies from 2021 to 2023. Villarruel founded the civil association Centro de Estudios Legales sobre el Terrorismo y sus Víctimas. Several media outlets and human rights groups have accused her of denying state terrorism; she rejects these claims, saying she does not back the National Reorganization Process.
