Biography
About Ursula Buchfellner
Ursula Buchfellner was born on Thursday, 8 June 1961 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. She is one of ten children, and her early life was shaped by hardship. The family lived in a small apartment in a homeless shelter, where they shared a bathroom with three other families. At 15, she began training as a bakery saleswoman, a path that would soon change.
In 1977, a Playboy editor discovered her in a Munich beer garden. At 16, she needed parental consent for the photo shoot, which she obtained under a pretext, confiding only in her uncle, who encouraged her. The photos, taken in June 1977, appeared in the German edition of Playboy in December 1977 under the title "Ursula's sweet things." She was paid around 4,000 DM. Though she was barely 16 at the time, the publication drew harsh reactions from those around her, including her grandmother, and she had to give up her job in the bakery.
Buchfellner went on to become a Playboy Playmate of the Month, appearing in several international editions: the US edition in October 1979, Brazil in February 1980, France in October 1979, Germany in December 1977, Mexico in October 1979, and Spain in October 1979. She was the first German Playmate in the American Playboy. In November 1985, she became the first Playmate to appear in Penthouse magazine. She also worked for other men's magazines, including Lui and High Society. In 1979, she turned down an $80,000 offer from Penthouse because she did not like how the photos were made.
From the late 1970s, Buchfellner acted in German erotic films, such as Popcorn and Raspberry Ice Cream (1978) and Three Cheeky Bees in the Philippines, and in various European B-movies. She appeared in several works by Spanish director Jesús Franco and in The Last Harem alongside Corinne Clery. She also used the stage names Uschi Buchfellner, Ursula Fellner, Ulla Maris, and Ursula Maris.
In the mid-1980s, she ended her career as a model and erotic actress, focusing on acting alone. She appeared in the TV series Die Wicherts von Nebenan, had supporting roles in Derrick, and later in Peter Steiner's Theaterstadl and Zum Stanglwirt. She managed to change her public image.
Away from acting, Buchfellner completed a cosmetics training course, became a children's sports teacher, and later an astrologer after studying psychology. She was in a seven-year relationship with Berlin businessman Rolf Eden, and they remained friends until his death. In 2015, she published an autobiography, revealing she had suffered child abuse at age seven. She lives in Munich. In June 2022, she was elected to the senior citizens' representation of her district, and in October 2023, she ran as an independent candidate for the Animal Welfare Party in the Bavarian state elections.
