Biography
About Theda Bara
Theda Bara was one of the first true femme fatales of the silent screen, built on the vamp roles she made famous. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she entered films in 1908 and remained a leading actress until 1926, nearly two decades in an industry that chewed up stars quickly. She was American by nationality, with a mixed-race background primarily Caucasian.
Standing 5'6" with black hair and brown eyes, she cut a striking figure that matched her on-screen persona. Her natural bust was a 34C, and her measurements were 34–28–38. Off-screen, she lived a quieter life than her characters suggested. By the time she died on April 7, 1955, at 69, she had long since left the spotlight, but her impact on cinema's image of the dangerous woman endures.
