Terry Nihen, now 65, was born on Saturday, September 17, 1960, in Concord, Massachusetts, and grew up American with a Caucasian background. She stands 5'6" with a slim body type, black hair, and brown eyes, and her measurements are 35–23–33 with a 32C bra cup.

Her path to becoming a Playboy Playmate began at a disco. She was in a bikini contest, and the first prize was a trip to Fort Lauderdale. One of the judges was Melinda Mays, Miss February 1983, who suggested that Terry try out for Playmate. Terry was fairly rude about it at first. There were other girls in the contest who were better-looking, and it never crossed her mind that she could be mistaken for one of the women in Playboy. But after a day of thought, she called Melinda. Melinda's instinct was right: Terry had the kind of body that Playboy readers loved, and her fierce workout regime left her in exquisite shape.

Terry was named Playmate of the Month for December 1983, a title that also appeared in Playboy Italy, Playboy France, and Playboy Brazil, with the Brazilian issue coming in December 1984. Her time as a Playboy model and centerfold was brief, spanning from 1983 to 1984, starting when she was around 22 years old. She is straight, and her work included full nudity.
