Biography
About Terri Welles
Terri Welles is a former American model and actress whose career peaked in the early 1980s. She was born on November 21, 1956, in Santa Monica, California. At 5'9" with a slim build, blonde hair, and brown eyes, she fits the classic Playboy look of her era.
Welles first appeared on the cover of Playboy in May 1980, dressed in a flight attendant costume. At the time, she was working as a United Airlines stewardess. That role led to her centerfold appearance in the December 1980 issue, and she was named Playmate of the Year for 1981. Her original pictorial was shot by photographer Richard Fegley. Her measurements are 36-24-36, with a natural 34C bra size.
In 1981, Welles married NHL player Charlie Simmer. The couple had a daughter, Brittany Ann Simmer, born in 1983, and they divorced in 1986. Decades later, Welles made news again in 1997 when she launched an online business selling pictures of herself. She described herself on the site as a former Playboy model and Playmate of the Year. Playboy Enterprises sued her in 1998, claiming trademark infringement. The court ruled in her favor, finding that her uses were nominative and did not infringe. She closed the site on October 31, 2006, saying it had been a fun ride.
