Teri Peterson is best known as the Playboy Playmate of the Month for July 1980, a title she also earned in Spain and France that same month, followed by Japan in August 1980. She went on to be named Playboy's Playmate of the Month in Brazil in October 1980 and Italy in June 1981. Standing 5'7" with a slim build, blonde hair, and blue eyes, she has real, natural 34B breasts and measurements of 35–22–34. She is American, born in Santa Monica, California, in 1959.

Before and after her Playmate appearance, Teri worked as a fashion model, and her pictorial was titled "Going in Style." She also pursued acting, with a few movie roles, but focused mainly on theater in the Los Angeles area. Later, she became a martial-arts instructor and personal trainer.
