Edited by the community

She is slim, with brown hair and blue eyes, and carries herself with a quiet confidence that suits her musical background. Tara Newley, born on October 12, 1963, in New York City, is a British and American musician. The daughter of actress Joan Collins and singer Anthony Newley, she spent her early years in the United States before moving to London when her parents' marriage ended in 1970. She studied at Boston University, and later became a television presenter in the early 1990s.

Newley's music career includes a recording titled "Breathing is Easy," which entered the UK Singles chart in the mid-1990s. She also appeared in the film "Can Hieronymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?" written and directed by her father, in a role based on herself but named Thumbelina. In 2009, she began appearing on Sky 1's talk show "Angela and Friends."

Her family life has been eventful. She has a brother, Sacha, and a half-sister, Katie, from her mother's second marriage to Ron Kass. Newley was engaged in the mid-1990s to John Bramwell, lead singer of I Am Kloot, whom she met while they were both presenting a show on Granada TV called "Fresh." She was later married to French composer Michael Adam, with whom she had a daughter, Miel Celeste, born in 1998; the couple divorced. She has a son named Weston.
