Biography

About Taija Rae

Edited by the community

Taija Rae is an American former adult model and porn star. She was born Tianna O'Keefe Reilly on January 29, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up in a middle-class Irish family. Her early life included participation in her high school drama club and school newspaper. She worked as a cocktail waitress before entering the adult film industry at age 21 in 1983. Rae was discovered by Philadelphia talent firm Lynx Management. Her stage name, pronounced Tayzh-a, came from an Asian cocktail waitress she worked with, and the surname Rae was a tribute to Fay Wray, the actress in King Kong.

Rae debuted in Dangerous Stuff and Scenes They Wouldn't Let Me Shoot, both filmed in 1983, and went on to appear in over 170 films for studios like VCA, Caballero Home Video, and Western Visuals. Notable films include She's So Fine! (1985), Star Angel (1986), Good Girls, Bad Girls (1984), and Taboo American Style: The Ruthless Beginning (1985). Her performances in Driller (1984) and Talk Dirty to Me 4 (1986) were praised for their intensity and acting. Rae was popular for her natural baby fat and youthful look. In 1986, she moved to Los Angeles, lost weight, and dyed her hair blonde, which enhanced her career. She collaborated with performers like Ginger Allen Lynn, Amber Lynn, Colleen Brennan, Sharon Mitchell, and Samantha Strong, and worked with directors like Henri Pachard and Chuck Vincent. She also modeled for Hustler, High Society, and Erotic X-Film Guide. In a 1986 Hustler article, she was labeled one of the "porn Big Four" alongside Traci Lords, Ginger Lynn, and Amber Lynn. She was nominated for the 1988 AVN Award for Best Actress for Inner Blues.

Physically, Rae stood at 5'5", weighed 130 pounds, with brown hair (later blonde), brown eyes, and a 38D-24-37 figure with natural D-cup breasts. She had no tattoos, piercings, or surgeries. Rae was bisexual and had a lesbian relationship with a woman named Chelsea in the late 80s. In 1988's Air Erotic, she and Chelsea had sex and then a threesome with a male performer; that was Chelsea's only movie. Rae had relationships with adult performers Joey Silvera (1984–1985) and Buck Adams. Her net worth is estimated at $1.5 million as of 2023. She exited the industry suddenly in 1990, with rumors of a mid-1990s comeback that never materialized. As of July 15, 2025, Rae lives privately, with no confirmed location or social media presence. She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 1998 and the XRCO Hall of Fame in 1997.
