Biography
About Star Stowe
A slim blonde with brown eyes, Star Stowe stood 5'6" and kept a petite, natural frame throughout her life. She was an American model and former Playboy centerfold, celebrated for her February 1977 Playmate of the Month appearance. Her centerfold was photographed by Pompeo Posar.
Born Ellen Louise Stowe in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 19, 1956, she later moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1986 seeking work as an exotic dancer. Her personal life included a relationship with Gene Simmons, and a marriage to Peter Magligo that ended in divorce; they had a son, Michael. When Michael was six, she sent him to live with her mother but maintained contact through calls and visits.
Stowe faced significant struggles, falling into prostitution, alcoholism, and drug abuse after her dancing career faltered. In 1991, she moved in with a boyfriend and gave up drugs and prostitution, but that stability ended in August 1996 after a drunken argument. She returned to her former life. Her body was found strangled and partially clothed three days before her 41st birthday. Her murder remains unsolved, and investigators believed it might be linked to a possible serial killer in southwest Florida.
