About Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor is an Indian actress and influencer who has built one of the largest social media presences in the country. With over 33.2 million Instagram followers, she ranks among the most-followed Indian celebrities online. Her career in Hindi cinema spans nearly two decades, beginning with her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic drama Saawariya in 2007. Though that film underperformed at the box office, she found early commercial success with I Hate Luv Storys in 2010, and later achieved critical acclaim for her role in Raanjhanaa (2013).
Kapoor's most notable performances include her award-winning portrayal of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot in the 2016 biographical thriller Neerja, which earned her a National Film Award Special Mention and a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She also appeared in the high-grossing biopics Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013) and Sanju (2018), as well as the romance Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). Born in Mumbai to actor Anil Kapoor, she initially worked as an assistant director on Bhansali's Black (2005) before stepping in front of the camera.
