Sofia Olifrenko

Sofia Olifrenko was a Russian model whose life ended in tragedy in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 18, 2022. Born in 1998, she was 23 or 24 years old at the time of her death. She fell 60 feet from a fifth-floor hotel balcony, and Turkish police have been investigating whether she jumped or was pushed. The circumstances remain shrouded in mystery, with reports noting she had checked into the hotel under the false name Alexandra V.

Sofia had married Romanian male model Istvan Sarkozy in February of that year. Her husband said she arrived in Istanbul on May 9 for modelling work, but he lost contact with her three days before her death. Earlier on the day she died, chilling CCTV footage showed her appearing to have trouble walking down a pathway, at one point using a wall for support. Police interviewed a Turkish man named F.K., who said he met Sofia on the street while she was crying. He told officers, "I don't know the woman's name, we met on the street. She was crying. I took her to her hotel room." He claimed she appeared very drunk and could barely walk.

Sofia was known for her slim build and black hair. The investigation into her death has drawn international attention, but as of now, no definitive conclusion has been announced.
