About Simmone Jade Mackinnon
Australian actress and model Simmone Jade Mackinnon was born on Monday 19th of March 1973 in Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia. She began her acting career in 1988 at around 15 years old, appearing in the Australian feature film Something About Love. She went on to appear in Dating the Enemy and Dust of the Wings before moving to television in 1997. Her breakout role came as Allie Reese on Baywatch Hawaii (1999–2000), opposite David Hasselhoff. She is perhaps best known for playing Stevie Hall on McLeod's Daughters from 2003 to 2009, a role that earned her several Logie Award nominations, including for Most Popular New Female Talent and Most Popular Actress. She was also nominated for the Gold Logie Award in 2007 and 2009.
Mackinnon's other television work includes guest spots on Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord, Water Rats, All Saints, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World, The Cut, Rescue: Special Ops, Cops L.A.C., and City Homicide. In 2001, she appeared in the television miniseries Attila with Powers Boothe and Gerard Butler. She starred in the Syfy television film Deep Shock in 2003 and played roles in three direct-to-video films: Python, Dark Waters, and Submission, for which she also served as producer. From 1993 to 1995, she toured with the musical Cats in the role of Cassandra through Australia and Asia. In 2009 and 2010, she appeared as a presenter on the Nine Network's Random Acts of Kindness.
In 2012, Mackinnon joined the cast of Neighbours as Zoe Alexander, relocating to Melbourne for filming. After a twelve-year break from the screen, she returned as a contestant on the reality series The Summit in 2024, which premiered on 12 May and she completed the season with $100,000. Mackinnon gave birth to her first child, a son, on 19 March 2010, her 37th birthday. She has been named an RSPCA superhero for her support of animals, and she has Australian Cattle Dogs as pets. Her dogs are Duke and Kevin.
