Shawntay Dalon

Shawntay Dalon is an American actress and advocate from Detroit, Michigan. She was born to Elijah and Marie (deceased) and grew up with six sisters and two brothers on the east side of the city. Shawntay and her twin sister Janay attended the Detroit High School for the Fine & Performing Arts, where Shawntay majored in Drama and Janay majored in Music. That same school had once been attended by her childhood inspiration, Aaliyah. Shawntay later graduated from Finney High School and studied Speech Communications and Theater at Wayne State University.

Over 20 years in the industry, Shawntay has built an impressive television resume. She completed two seasons on Comedy Central's "Detroiters," playing the recurring role of Chrissy Duvet-Cramblin. She also recurred on Netflix's "I Think You Should Leave" and landed a recurring role as Lisa Hill on season two of Freeform's "Good Trouble." Audiences may also remember her as Aisha Fulton on NBC's "Brooklyn Nine Nine."

But Shawntay's work goes far beyond acting. For over 20 years, she has been a Survivor/Victim Advocate, a role she says she prides herself on most. As a survivor herself, she found purpose in helping other teens work through their pain. She creates work through her own production company, CalienTay Productions, using her gifts in acting, writing, dance, and spoken word to spread faith, love, and courage.
