Sharon Thorpe

American actress Sharon Thorpe was born in Kansas on Friday, June 12, 1953. She grew up in the Midwest and attended college in New York before moving to San Francisco, where she worked as a secretary. In the early 1970s, a friend answered a newspaper ad for a hardcore movie, and although the friend backed out, Thorpe pursued the opportunity. She became an adult film star and was active from 1973 to 1979, during the Golden Age of Adult Cinema.

Thorpe appeared in nearly thirty hardcore films during her six-year career. She had a slim figure with natural B-cup breasts, a contrast to the more buxom actresses of the era. She was frequently paired with actor John Leslie, appearing with him in films such as 'Coming Attractions' (1976), where she played his wife in four sex scenes. She also worked with John Holmes in 'Tapestry Of Passion' and 'All Night Long' (1975). One of her most noted performances was as the shy Lisa Hill in 'SexWorld' (1978). She was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 1985.

Thorpe left the adult industry in 1980 but occasionally appears in compilations. She is remembered as a certified legend of early adult films, and she was one of the first women elected to the XRCO Performers' Hall of Fame. In 1975, director Barry Spinello made a film about her titled 'A Film About Sharon.' She also uses the pseudonyms Shairn Most, Joanna Savage, and Julie Holmes.
