Sevdaliza, born on 1 September 1987 in Tehran, Iran, is an Iranian-Dutch artist, musician, and producer. She is of Azerbaijani, Russian, and Persian descent. At five, she moved with her family to the Netherlands. At 16, she left home after earning a basketball scholarship, eventually playing for the Dutch national basketball team. She has been active since 2014, releasing two EPs in 2015: The Suspended Kid and Children of Silk. Her music is typically in English, but in early 2017 she released her first Persian-language song, "Bebin," as a protest against Executive Order 13769. Her debut album, ISON, came out on 26 April 2017 via her own label, Twisted Elegance. A third EP, The Calling, followed in 2018, and her second album, Shabrang, in 2020. On 28 June 2024, she released "Alibi," a viral song featuring Brazilian singer Pabllo Vittar and French singer-songwriter Yseult.

Sevdaliza stands 5'11" with black hair and grey eyes. Her Instagram following has reached 1.0 million. With 12 years of activity and a career spanning music, visual art, and directing, she has built a distinctive body of work. Her artistry is emotionally raw and genre-defying, blending electronic, trip-hop, and alternative R&B. She continues to push boundaries as a producer and visual storyteller.
