Sethrida Geagea

Born in Kumasi, Ghana, Sethrida Geagea grew up in the prominent Lebanese Tawk family, which once held businesses across West Africa. She is of Lebanese Maronite descent and holds Ghanaian and Lebanese nationality, with Middle Eastern ethnicity.

Geagea entered politics after her husband, Samir Geagea, was imprisoned in 1994. During his 11-year detention, she managed the Lebanese Forces Party as a key executive committee member. She has served as an MP for Bcharri district since June 2005, the year of her husband's release. She continues to hold a leadership role in the party her husband heads.
