Savannah Churchill

Savannah Churchill carved out a career as a musician during a period when few women of her background held the stage. She was born in Colfax, Louisiana, and began performing professionally in 1942 at around 21 years old. Over the next 18 years, until 1960, she built a body of work that reflected her roots. She stood 5'6" with a slim build, black hair, and brown eyes. Her natural look was part of her appeal. She was American and Caucasian, and identified as straight. Her career spanned a transformative era in music, yet she remained true to her own style.
